TONIGHT!!! Taco Pie!!

For many years now I have made Taco Pie. I love it. It is easy and fast! Tonight it will be TACO PIE!! I am tweaking it this time since I don't want to run out to the Store. Variations are wonderful just stick to the basic recipe!

TACO PIE

1 pd grd beef or turkey
2 cups of nacho cheese chips
sour cream
8 slices of cheese or shredded(the kind you like)
pkg of crescent rolls
taco seasoning

brown meat.. add seasoning.
in pie plate form crust with crescent rolls.
On top of crescent crust, 1/2 C of the crushed chips. Top that with Seasoned Meat, Sour Cream, Cheese and the rest of the crushed chips. Bake 350 for 30 min. Here we go in:

and here it comes out!! Can't wait..

I varied this one quite a bit.. I didn't want to go to the store, so I used reg taco chips, added some jar nacho cheese, seasoned meat, salsa, sour cream, cheese, and the rest of the chips. Still tasted great!

Then the pie plate broke. :-( not kidding. Sigh.

The NEW YEAR

Well, We have seen the New Year begin... Very interestingly so I must say. Although I won't go into any particulars I sure hope next year is a much better beginning. Christmas was certainly a good time with an 18 month old Grandson just getting the hang of opening his presents. Each year we sort of thinking of doing just 3 presents each. Good Luck on that thought, Dawn.. ! Each year it hasn't happend. We are making a stronger commitment for the coming year. It has started to become a family tradition that we do a special gift as a family. That has been great fun. Last year we all went to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra after getting famously known Wings at Anchor Bar, Buffalo. This year, We are all going to go to UB to see the Harlem Globetrotters. Max won't be able to attend at this point but we are anxious to take him as he gets old enough to understand and enjoy it. At this point, I think we wouldn't be able to pay much attention for very long.

So What are some of your Holiday Traditions you have started or carried on through the years? I would love to hear them.

Two Homes in One

Well, I think that the title of this post says it all. We have moved most of our belongings back to our Home in Attica, NY. However there is a full car waiting yet to come back. I intended this blog to be about my passion of knitting ahnd crafts... LOL... I have had no time for anything other than what the heck am I going to do with all of this stuff! I have  managed to give away two printers and a scanner, towels, bedding, rugs to friends in need for their apartments but there is still a big overage in my home! Phew! The problem is that we left a huge house to a smaller house. It would have been so much simpler to move from a small house to a big house! Well, the process continues....now to spend the day trying to sort and store, While still doing the regular housework! Then, start all over once the rest of it all comes home! Any ideas or suggested for what to do with many extras?

Perhaps I can find a shelter that have people in need.

Busy Busy Busy

I have been trying to do this blogging thing. It has been a busy weekend and I am not used to having my camera right at my fingertips. This past weekend we moved most of our belongings out of the home we had in Elmira for the past 3 years. It was very hard for me.  I did shed quite a few tears which only caused stress for my husband, not wanting me to be hurt. It is a really nice home.. I loved the old design and the space of it all. Two Fireplaces!  The yard was nice. A great place to entertain! Which I tried to do often.

It was kind of hard to live between two homes though. Up keep of the one we own in Attica, having duplicate bills. When your in one you think a lot of the other no matter which you were in. I don't transition very well. The biggest thing that bothered me is that the home in Elmira became My Husbands and My Escape. A Shangrala if you will. My little brigadoon. No lawn mowing, shoveling, gardening. No upkeep for us. We had our nights planned and we enjoyed our time together. The area there is large enough that I had easy access to the mall and all the shops that I enjoy. Two Yarn stores that I really really liked!! No place is perfect but the attitude there was pretty easy. Just large enough not to have small town talk. I DON'T LIKE SMALL TOWN TALK. One more trip this week and my keys will be handed in. Probably a few more tears will fall.

The good news is that now we are both in the same house all the time, regardless of what issues may come up. Our systems will come back into play and we will continue to go forward with home renovations. God will see us through. Some people have a difficult time in having just one home to live in.. so I will not complain that I moved from one to live in just one. As long as we are together, we are blessed. Besides, I am so excited to have the pool this summer and hope to continue on entertaining!!! Come on over for a swim!!!

The Parrot (A Thanksgiving Classic)

ok.. with Thanksgiving coming up quickly I couldn't resist this little classic.

A young man named John received a parrot as a gift. The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary. Every word out of the bird's mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity. John tried and tried to change the bird's attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything else he could think of to "clean up" the bird's vocabulary. Finally, John was fed up and he yelled at the parrot. The parrot yelled back. John shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even ruder. John, in desperation, threw up his hand, grabbed the bird and put him in the freezer. For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed. Then suddenly there was total quiet. Not a peep was heard for over a minute. Fearing that he'd hurt the parrot, John quickly opened the door to the freezer. The parrot calmly stepped out onto John's outstretched arms and said "I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions. I'm sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions and I fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior." John was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude. As he was about to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his behavior, the bird continued..............

"May I ask what the turkey did?"
